THOUGHTS

Have you ever watched the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?"

or have you ever read "Messages From Water" by Dr. Emoto

Our thoughts have a powerful impact on our mental and physical health.

Negative thoughts damage the energy flow

Positive thoughts heal it

When we have temporary negative energy or experience it usually is dealt with and processed and released and our body comes back into a balanced state of homeostasis.

Like ripple in a pond when you toss a rock into it.

But if the thoughts or negative events are held on to or trapped they continue to send ripples that alert your immune system of an emergency.

Intellectual

Your brain is a muscle.  It exercises, it gets tired and it does atrophe if unused.

Stimulating your mind by reading, studying and discovering is an important aspect of maintaining vitality in your longevity.

Read Good Books

Participate in and Watch Educational and Mind Opening Discussions

Continue your education throughout your life.

Your brain loves to be challenged and work hard.   It also needs downtime.  But rest your mind by meditating, walking outside, doing an enjoyable hobby or volunteering in the community.   Once in a while it's ok to zone in front of the tv and waste time watching senseless videos online, but if you do this a majority of the time you will notice your brain feeling tired, unmotivated and somewhat depressed.  There is a self confidence and power that comes from using and strengthening your brain muscles.

KEEP A JOURNAL

The art of writing feelings, ideas, events and goals in a journal is healing and healthy.  It has been said that those who regularly journal live longer and are less likely to develop such diseases as Dementia and Alzheimers.

Brain Dump=
If you have a lot on your mind at night have a journal to dump your worries or thoughts into so you can rest
Keep a Journal by your bed to record dreams
When you have stress or anger it's healthy to write it out, but maybe even healthier to then watch it burn and float away...   You don't want to be just negative and exercise the negativity response in your mind.

Be grateful and positive and keep a gratitude journal to see if you can record the simple pleasures and tender mercies throughout your day.

This is particularly helpful in a hard time.  To force your mind to focus on positive.  Also it has helped me to look back on my journal to similar struggles and how I got through them.

I have been my own best friend and helped myself through dark times by my positive thoughts and words recorded at better times.
